Come at me

Oregon is my home. I love Oregon, I’m usually pretty calm but Republicans are fucking with me mentally. I am 16 years old legally still a kid, So why don’t Republicans see me as human? Am I lesser because of my gender? Are my friends lesser because of their gender? The answer in 2023 should be no. But according to the GOP, I deserve to die for being myself.

In some states and countries for that matter, I am a criminal. I like to joke about “Be gay do crime” but the joke is starting to become more of a statement “Be gay, your a criminal.” Hundreds of Queer kids are dead because of these Anti-trans/gay laws and they becoming more apparent as the days tick by.

Over the last 7 years, there has been a horrifying spike in Anti-trans laws, with no signs of stopping. President Joe Biden can stop this. [1]

According to the Whitehouse and Biden himself, he is with trans people [2]. But seems he is just saying that for his approval rating, then approves restrictions on trans athletes (Mainly against trans women)[3]

I could be completely wrong, maybe he’s working on something big that will blow all the Anti-trans laws out of the water, but I’m going based on what is available to me now.

Oregon politics

Now it’s time for the laws that affect me, being from Oregon. Now before I do that let me catch you up to speed on what has been happening this month. At the start of May, the Republicans in the Oregon Senate decided to up and walk out [4]. It is funny that One-third (6 as of May 18th) of the Senate now cant be reelected because they had 10 unexcused absences [5]. What the GOP has done is make it way harder for them to fight Democrats’ laws [6].

I hope that Oregon can be a haven for Queer youth, all republicans should go to Idaho, Oregon is too blue for red.
