As many of you know midterm elections have happened in the USA. As an Oregonian, I’m going to talk about the election here, Kotek wins! Glad we didn’t turn red, I didn’t think we would, it’s been a while since we’ve been a red state, and I love to see the Republicans get mad about Democrats winning, “Recount the votes!!!” “Cheaters, Cheaters.” Nope, we are just really goddamn strong here. But I have to admit most of Oregon scared me.
Mainly Bend and Salem, but due to the sheer size of Eugene and Portland, we pulled through.
Also, it wasn’t even close 3.6% difference is big we got about ≥63,534 more votes than Drazan, I have to say that I’m counting on Kotek to do good things, and I trust that she will do good things, she seems more competent than Drazan whom is quite literally Donald Trump.
I want people to understand that in elections there are really only 2 parties that matter, Democrat and Republican, as much as I want to give chances to other parties, in the grand scheme of votes the odds of anything but GOP or DEM getting voted in is not impossible just highly improbable. If you look at Betsy Johnson she got a shocking 8.5% difference, equating to ≥149,519 votes, those votes would have had more power if they split to GOP or DEM, but I’m glad they weren’t.
All of the Republicans here like to bring up the homeless Crisis “started by Kate Brown and Tina Kotek” Should I mention that Drazan could have helped out but didn’t? Also, I feel the need to mention that yes homelessness in Portland to be specific needs to be rectified it also wasn’t helped by the Covid-19 pandemic and the substantial economic crash, millions of people lost jobs. Yes, it sucks but most Republicans didn’t make it any better by denying the virus and being absolute shits about it.
